Maneras de dimensionar un bosque brings together for the first time a collection of selected texts by the architect Andrés Perea. From different perspectives and from different times, this collection of writings -many of them unpublished- shows us his way of understanding creativity, pedagogy and architectural work. Together they form a warp that, folding over the same terrain time and again, configures knots, singularities and knowledge. In contrast to a predictable and linear conception of architecture, Andrés here proposes a wooded conception of architecture. It is not perceived all at once; on the contrary, we must enter and immerse ourselves in the fragments of the whole, losing ourselves in them in order to begin to glimpse something and, more importantly, to find the clearings, which are the places where a greater horizon appears. The multiple branches of this arboreal ensemble are alive, they are relational and a good and personal compass is necessary, often based on intuition, sometimes on technique, construction, critique or ecology – sometimes all must be set in motion at the same time – to be able to navigate the intrinsic uncertainty of this construct.
